Writings on the wall …
BÄÄÄÄÄM, this logo jumps right in your face! /or/ Heeello, dearest readers!
Here is Mona with good news! At the end of last week we finished writing our theory part of the diploma! As Aschaschi takes care of the spelling correction and fine tuning, I had the utmost pleasure to rework and finalize the ZOMBASE logo.
The logo will be part of the header of this here developers blog, the treatment and artbook, a sticker motive and of course the main element of the game and comic cover. In order to achieve a style that naturally looks like graffiti we asked two gifted artists, who have profound experience in this field, to work together with us. The color palette used is the same that we set up for Lizza. These bright colors do also, besides her, represent the over all feeling of the game (which is loud and joust “outta there”).
This is the artwork Sven did for us. We instantly fell in love with it. The composition especially with the little o and a is quite exquisite and it pops real nice from the background. But as I started to add color to it and we showed it around to get feedback, nobody was able to read it instantly. So, heartbroken, we came to the decision that we had to try something else, that would be readable for an untrained eye.
This design was done by Dennis, an author at Zero Budget Productions. What struck us about it, was the movement in itself, and between the letters, also the bouncy bubblegum color placement. I thought it would go good with Svens drips on the outline and also with some of the bubbles outside so i just remixed it. Also I switched the colors, so the white would not dominate the design, because since I erased the outer sparks it threatened to fall apart, but the color change should hold it together. Also I reduced the amount of dots in order to intensify the all over appearance.
I very much hope you enjoy it, and let me know what you think of the outcome!
